Politics and Hip-Hop

For some reason, there is a stereotype that the hip-hop community isn't involved in politics and the voting process. Hip-hop has always been deeply rooted in politics since the 80's. Back when Jesse Jackson made his historic run for the white house, hip-hop pioneer Melle Mel released the song 'Jesse' in support of the politician.
